I think I am being blessed more by the 30 days of blessings challenge than anyone else. Watching how the boys are thinking has been so cool. Not that they are doing anything huge, but just watching them look for ways to bless is so fun.
I don’t know how the trash service where you live works, but here, on Thursdays you have to have your “provided” trash can at the curb super early because you never know if the truck will show up at 6:00 in the morning or 9:00 at night. Our trash guys aren’t real particular about how they leave our trash cans when they are done with them either. I know I wouldn’t want their job and it would be hard for me to find JOY in it, but they don’t usually even care if they get the right can back to the right house or if it is on the driveway or in the street. Usually they are left somewhere close to the curb or street and somewhere in the vicinity of your house. Anyway, last week the boys decided they wanted to put everyone’s can back up by their garage after the truck came. It was so funny watching them, every time they heard a truck they ran to the front window to see if it was them. They really wanted the truck to come early, before school was out for their friends, and before parents were home from work. Eventually they heard the truck and they ran to the front window to watch so they could go out as soon as it left. At the last glimpse of the back of the truck, they were off. They did all the houses on our street. Not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but the beauty of it was they didn’t want anyone to know it was them. They weren’t in it for the glory and praise of the neighbors, they only wanted to bless!! No one has said anything about it, they probably think our trash guys decided to be nice that day, but Adam and Isaac know what they did and so does Jesus!! Oh the JOY that brought my heart!!
But among you it will be different. Whoever wants to be a leader among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first among you must become your slave. Matthew 20:26-27
On Saturday, we had to go to the mall, we were limited on time, but the boys asked if they could bless while we were there. They wanted to drop $1 bills from the second floor so that it would just float down and bless someone walking by. It was so fun to watch. They didn’t have much money, but they really wanted to do this. Our mall has an open middle where you can see down to the bottom floor, so Dan and I stood on one side and Drew (our middle son) took the boys to the other side. Dan and I watched and when someone was coming we gave the nod and they dropped the dollar. The first floated straight down in front of a little girl, about 7 probably, she caught it in the air and her eyes lit up, she was so excited. There was one though that really stood out, it floated down in front of a family and it was so cool, when the dad saw it coming, he looked straight up at the sky and said, “Thank you, Lord!!” The boys were so blessed to hear this. They were beaming, and so were Dan and I!!
You know blessings come in all shapes and sizes, they aren’t all huge, but they can ALL BE LIFE CHANGING!! The funny thing is, it is usually your life it changes!!
The greatest among you must be a servant. Matthew 23:11
Believing you will all find someone to bless!!
Counting it all Joy!!

Oh this is soooo awesome! I can just see their faces now :) No doubt this "project" will be remembered for a life time in all of you! What a good job you are doing! They are learning as well "tis FAR better to Give than to Receive!" :)
Love you Angel!
Angel,
That is just awesome. What a blessing your boys are! Neat ideas for sure. I know around Christmas time when we do the 12 days of giving our kids really love giving. Too bad it isn't that way throughout the whole year for them. Trying to teach them daily it is better to give than to receive. It is a lesson they will learn.
Beautiful post.
God is good.
Hugs,
Mimi
wow! that is so incredible! what great things to be teaching your boys! we can learn so much from the giving hearts and serving ideas of kids. :)
Angel,
I love these ideas. We do the very same thing on Thursday which are trash days here. So many of our neighbors work or are elderly so it's fun to race out and bring their trash cans up to them and put them away.
I may have to try your dollar bill idea. That sounds like so much fun. Our girls had a blast one day when we were at a local outdoor mall and we came across so many expired meters, we simply filled them up on our walk on the street until we ran out of quarters. It was so much fun!

I loved reading this post.
You are raising your children to bless others and think about more than themselves and that is a precious gift.
Happy Tuesday, friend.
Thanks for the prayers and sweet comments.
Oh, by the way i sent you an email...if I got the address right. I need an address to mail your prize to.
I loved reading about what blessings your boys have been sharing. I told my boy Caleb about it too, he thought that sounded so neat. I guess he was still thinking about it b/c later he said did their Mom go to the mall with them?
Have a good rest of the week!
Bethany
