The Cupcake SAGA - pt 6

If you are just stopping in and haven’t read the other parts of the Cupcake Saga, you may want to click here for pt 1 so you can at least understand why there is even a saga to blog about!!
This was a day we had all been looking forward to!!  A day with NO plans except a cupcake, some good food, and a day at the beach!!  Pure bliss!!
We headed to La Jolla first thing to see Seal Beach!!  We had heard you could always see seal but were we ever surprised.  I guess we were expecting to maybe catch a glimpse of one or two, but we were shocked...  there were seal everywhere, in the water, on the sand, on the rocks, just playing and soaking up the sun, it was SO COOL!!

A few of my favorites!!

We left there and headed to Oceanside and Carlsbad for the beach, a few surf shops, and as always looking for a local cupcakery!!  The boys found some skim boards and were anxious to try them out, so off to the beach we went!!  There were some other boys playing on their skim boards and came over and offered to teach Adam and Isaac how to do it.  They didn’t bust it too bad and it was definitely fun to watch.  Dan even tried it out and I really thought he was gonna crash and burn a few times, but he didn’t do too bad either.

My boys taking a very unofficial skim board lesson!!  Just love how fast they make friends!!

It was a good try!!

They maybe didn’t become pro on their skim boards,
but they sure looked good standing by them!!

I spent several hours reading, playing, watching my kids, husband included, play in the waves, all while soaking up the sun and the beauty of God’s World.  It never ceases to amaze me.  The beautiful birds, ocean in front of me as far as I could see, mountains behind me, the best of everything for sure!!

Loved watching these birds “share” their food!!

We headed back to the hotel to change, we still had cupcakes and dinner to do!!  Adam started not feeling too well though so we decided to get take out and eat in our room, needless to say the cupcakes were going to have to wait for another day!  We weren’t too disappointed though, we all knew the next day we were going to the cupcakes destination we had all been waiting for, the one this whole trip was leading up to!!
Dinner in our room and then my sweet hubby headed to Starbucks and got us all a coffee - what a wonderful man he is!!  By this point Adam was feeling way better, so off to bed we went to dream of the big plans we had for tomorrow and from what we have heard for years the best cupcakes in the country!!  Sweet Dreams for sure!!
Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.  Phil. 4:6-7
Where do you get your favorite cupcakes??
Counting it all Joy!!

Wonderful pictures. I especially
love the birds. It's hard to
visit you because I just want
to eat cupcakes so badly. I
haven't had a fabulous one in
a long time. I need to find a
really great recipe and bake
some this weekend. All your
fault, Angel! ;)
Blessings,
Sandy
