Now That Was a Weekend!!

What a weekend!!  We started it a day early when we found out our new grandbaby is going to be a boy!!  No gender revealing party here though!!  I had done one earlier in the week for my friend Loren’s grandbaby, but when you’re the baker, it’s not much of a surprise so, we celebrated by going to dinner Thursday evening with the whole family!!  Of course I shopped for a full bag of blue baby items before dinner!!  He will be making his debut in late November and I am soooo excited about this little blessing.
Children are a gift from the Lord; they are a reward from him.  Psalm 127:3
A while back we had decided to build a shoe bench in our laundry room, so Dan designed one to fit perfectly and we finally started on it this weekend.  Actually, he’s building it and I am just supervising whenever he asks my opinion.  It is looking wonderful and will be so great to have.  I will post pictures when it is completely finished.
We went to church on Saturday evening, which I love to do, that way we have our Sundays to relax and just enjoy each other.  Our pastor interview Tony Dungy and it was so good.  He is an amazing man of God.  He talked about effective leadership, finding balance in your life, and a lot about mentoring!!  It was great!!
On Sunday, the boys and I decided to work on some new Fall decorations for the house.  That’s always fun!!

Working away!!

They covered mason jars with orange tissue paper and we turned them into candle holders!!

I bought a blank sign and some cut outs and the boys and I painted and decorated this for our front door!!  I really like how it turned out!!

I also cooked a bunch of make ahead breakfasts to freeze.  Our mornings are so hectic, people start leaving at 5:30 and it is a revolving door until around 9:00 and in the middle of all that, the boys and I start school and Ella shows up for the day.  Needless to say, we have a hard time fitting in a decent breakfast and I really don’t like them eating pop tarts and cereal bars everyday so, I made breakfast burritos, individual smoothies, and pancakes, froze them and now my hubby and kiddos can have a decent breakfast without me getting up at 4:30 to start feeding them.  We all win!!  We ended the day going to some friends of ours house for dinner and fellowship, always a blessing!!
Yesterday was busy trying to finish some projects and getting ready for school and all the events of the week!!
Today is my honey’s birthday!!  What a wonderful man he is!!  He’s a great Dad, a fabulous husband, my best friend, an awesome Papo, a hard worker, a friendly and helpful neighbor, a terrific provider, he shows me love in so many ways, and I could just go on and on but most of all HE LOVES JESUS and that’s the most important thing.
We will be celebrating him with dinner and dessert.  The kids will all be here again for that, Yippee!!  I am so very blessed with the amazing man God created just for me!!  Happy Birthday Baby!!  I love you!!
Don’t forget, tomorrow is Why I Count it all Joy Wednesday!!  Help me spread the JOY, grab my button, make your joy list, and come back and link up so others can find you and read your JOY!!

Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds.  James 1:2

Counting it all Joy!!

Now that's what I call "intentional memory-making"!

I love creative stuff (as long as it doesn't involve "art"; I'm dreadful at that), especially when it's combined with productive or useful.

Looks like you're all set for Fall to fall!
