A Good Weekend!!

Oh what a wonderful weekend!!  It started a little rough with all the teeth and airport events on Friday.  The boys both did really well, the only bad thing, they only took one of Drew’s wisdom teeth because it was extremely impact so he will have to go back for the other three!!  After Friday, he sure isn’t looking forward to that!!  Thanks for all the prayers.
I got a lot of cleaning done!!!  The whole family chipped in, which is always WONDERFUL and makes the job way more bearable, especially when it is so beautiful outside.  But, Oh the JOYS of a clean house!!!  We even got the rest of our flowers planted in the front, so now when I sit out in my favorite chairs, I am surrounded even more with the beauty of His creation.
My little guys got Dulcimer kits a while back and they have been building them with their dad.  They finished them this weekend and were so excited.  They sat out in my chairs last night while we were planting and played Amazing Grace.  Such sweet music to my ears and I know the neighbors could hear it too!!  I love it when you can just feel Jesus smiling down on you!!

Since we finished school last week (about 3 weeks early), I have challenged the boys to 30 days of blessings.  They have to intentionally do something daily to bless someone else.  It can be an idea for the whole family to join in or just something on their own.  It doesn’t have to be a big thing either, I just want them to see and always remember that we are here to serve, to show others the love of Christ.  So far they have come up with some good ideas, but I have also told them not to plan it all out and to watch for opportunities the Lord puts before them.  I just challenged them to think outside the box.  I am so anxious to see how He uses them and to see the growth in us because of it.  Maybe some of you guys could join us in this challenge.  I will keep you updated on their blessing adventure!!  There is nothing better than watching your kids love like Jesus!!
"If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has no pity on him, how can the love of God be in him? Dear children, let us not love with words or tongue but with actions and in truth." 1 John 3:17-18
Believing you all will have a wonderful, joy filled day!!
Counting it all Joy!!

What a great idea to do 30 days of blessings. I love that. That could be a summer project for us. Thanks. Sorry to hear that Drew has to go back...ouch.
My MIL plays the Dulcimer. She loves teaching herself.

Ouch on the wisdom tooth thingy. My daughter (16) has to have one of hers taken out and she isn't looking forward to it.
And I love your idea for your boys. I think we will wrap school up here pretty soon but not until we do a Lapbook on Chocolate. Oh yeah, the important stuff must be done.
Hugs

Sounds like an awesome weekend!! We did the same things :) except I didn't get as far as you with the flowers!!

Was praying for your boys ~ hate that he has to go back! that stinks in a big way!! I don't think they should give anyone a taste of what its like and then say come back we will do the other three...HELLO!!! I wouldn't want to go either! LOL

When do you want to do lunch this week?? I think we should do a post together about it :)!!!!!!! But I am thinking we may need a SLEEPOVER to catch up or a weekend getaway to cover everything ;)

Love you

30 days of blessings sounds like a wonderful idea! I used to do something similar with my boys when they were little. :-)

The boys did a great job with their dulcimers...I would love to hear them playing Amazing Grace!

Love the 30 days of blessing idea. Sounds like something I need to do myself.

So glad you had a great weekend. I should have had your family come over and cleaned my house, for it didn't get done. Now I have to clean tonight. :(

Happy Monday!
