Books and Presents!!

I went to buy a new devotional last night, and when I got there, as usual, there were so many good ones, that I ended up not buying the one I went for and instead bought two others.
While we were there, the store manager walked up to my son and said, “If you find anything you want, I will make you a deal on it.”  I thought that pretty strange since I was at Mardel, it’s not a store with flexible pricing.  Eventually, he came up to Dan and I and told us all the books on the bargain rack with purple stickers were $5 but in the last hour the store was open he was lowering the price to $2.50.  Then he said all the tan sticker books were $2.50 and he would lower them to $1.  I was so excited, I LOVE BOOKS and there were so many to pick from!!  There were a couple I had wanted but wouldn’t allow myself to spend the money on since I always have a stack of books to read and review.  I bought Beth Moore books, I bought Sheila Walsh books..., Dan bought books, Drew picked a couple, and there was even one for the twins.  I bought a few for others, as well.  In all, we bought 22 books for like $40.  How awesome is that!!!
Anyway, back to the devotional book, which is what this post is supposed to be about!!  I had pretty much decided on one when another one really caught my eye.  I flipped through it and quickly landed on a page about mid way through and I began to read it just to see how it was written.  This day was titled “A Time for Everything”, I loved what it said, it was really just what I needed right then.  As you have probably figured out, I bought that one too.  It isn’t dated, so you can start and stop it anywhere, it does have a few days that would coincide with holidays, but they could also be appropriate for any day.  This morning during my quiet time, I picked it up and trying to decide if I was going to start at the beginning or on the, so called, “right day”, I counted out where I would be if I had started it January 1st.  I couldn’t believe it, it landed me right on the page I had read last night at the store!!  God is Good!!
I used to carry so much junk around, but years ago I gave it all to God and for the most part, I leave it there, but occasionally it will get picked up again.  I have battled it more too, since I lost my mom.
The day that God OBVIOUSLY wanted me to read said -
Regrets from our past and worry about our future can cause us to miss the joy of the present season. - Well, you all know how much I LOVE JOY and I am sure NOT going to miss it!!

It goes on the talk about an old comic strip that says, “Yesterday’s the past, tomorrow’s the future, but today is a GIFT.  That’s why it’s called the PRESENT.”  I LOVE THIS!!

Things happen in our lives for a purpose, give it all to Him and let Him do the work.  We just need to be patient and let Him have the time to accomplish His purpose.
He has made everything beautiful in its time.  Ecclesiastes 3:11

Believing you will all have a fabulous Friday!!
Counting it all Joy!!
